A magnetic levitation experiment
An interesting physics experiment can be done by using the 2 circular magnets and the fishing rod.Use one circular magnet as the base,insert the pole in it,and drop the 2nd circular magnet (hole)onto the rod (making sure that the poles of the 2nd are set (flip?) so that the 2nd magnet is repelled.The 2nd magnet will oscillate a bit and then come into equilibrium (motionless). What has happenedis the repulsive magnetic force just cancels out the attractive gravitational force. Some extras:(1) weighing the 2nd circular magnet will tell you the magnitude of the repulsive magnetic force(2) adding the 2 block magnets to the base – for example-arranged so that they attract each other, the newbase will raise the equilibrium position of the 2nd circular magnet(3) My 7 year old grand son asked why the suspended 2nd magnet was tilted. I told him my guess is thatwe didn’t have complete circular symmetry (the block base magnets) or imperfectionsin the magnetic domains(4) by holding the 2nd circular magnetic against the base and then releasing it,it will fly off the rod.Undoubtedly kids will love that (parents no so much)

great product
This magnet set works perfect for my son. He likes to make his own experiments and create his own things. This kit allows him to make a race car that is pulled by a magnet underneath the table, a fishing line with magnetic fish,a magenetic boat, a magentic sculpture and other simple ideas. it has a paper that shows 10 experiments. Yes it is plastic and seams like it won’t last, but for 10.00 it was a good deal! If I had spent more and just purchased two bar magnets he would not have been able to make the car and the little experiments independently…. Instead I would have had to research simple experiments and help him make them work. One of the experiments does require a compass and another needs iron shavings (it says to use cold cereal to find iron). Good deal for a 6 year old boy.

Grandkids love magnets
We bought these for our grandson aged 10. This is a STEM Learn set that includes 25 pieces for a variety of building and learning activities. The magnets are strong and come in a variety of sizes with suggestions on what to build but then let your imagination go and come up with other magnetic ideas. This is a great kit fr the price and get them thinking scientifically through play.

I have no issue with how this product works. It does exactly what it is supposed to. However, it would have been just as easy for me to use stuff from my house and get directions off of Pinterest. I didn’t realize that before I purchased it. My preschoolers loved it and that is what mattered most. If you do not have wires, an old watch, and nails, this is a great kit for you. If you have stuff laying around, use Pinterest instead.

Fun Learning Toy
Bought this for my 10 year old son, after he fell crazy in love with Snap Circuits. We’re homeschoolers, so the link between electricity and magnetism required the purchase of several books and at least one hands-on magnet activity.It came today. He, my 13 year old daughter, and my 49 year old husband 🙂 spent quite awhile exploring, playing, learning. It definitely sparked my son’s interest in learning more about magnetism, which means it’s accomplished it’s primary purpose. They had fun, which is a secondary purpose. My daughter feels it was a bit too simple, but then, the kit is not geared to her age group.The only drawback is that there only 10 projects in the kit. They’ve already done all of them. In one evening. My son will have lots more fun coming up w/ his own experiments and simply playing, but still. If it cost more but offered more, it would be an even better deal. Though I’d absolutely buy it again. It cost about the same as a movie ticket and offers immeasurably higher value. Start with Snap Circuits, though.

Great Science Fair Project
This product worked great for us. We used it for my son’s science fair project. He was able to reuse it four times on different types of citrus to see which one would last the longest and the kit held up for weeks.

One of the best Christmas gifts!
Our son loved this! He played with it for over an hour. He was fascinated at positive vs negative force, as well as how to make different creations with what is in the kit (with no help at 10yrs old). This is one of the cheaper of the gifts and he played with it for a very long time, and was learning while doing it. Great job, KidzLabs.
