Large strong wipes made in China
Coterie Unscented Baby Wipes ReviewThis is a brand I was not familiar with. When I placed my order the listing page had limited info up at the top of the page where all the specifics usually are but did have some more photographs and information down lower on the page. One line I looked for was country of origin which was listed as USA. When these wipes were delivered the boxes had design and distribution as being in New York but also made in China. I don’t think most folks that are specifically looking for a country of origin on a product they are thinking about ordering are really concerned so much about where a product is designed and distributed from. I feel like most are like myself and wondering where was the actual product made and even more so with a product like baby wipes. So that was disappointing before I got around to opening the boxes. As for the wipes themselves the package says that these wipes are stronger and they are not kidding. I tried with all my strength to tear one and I couldn’t. They are strong, they are soft and they are large wipes. There is the faintest whiff of a smell but you have to put your nose right into it to detect any scent. I almost would call them orderless but there is just that very tiny scent. These wipes have been moist without being wet. I can’t find anything negative to write about the wipes themselves. I can’t think of anything they are missing. But I do wish they would correct their country of origin on the listing page. And then there is the question of how good a value you are getting. I don’t understand how these wipes are more expensive than very similar wipes that are made here in America.
My 2 cents –
Quality wipes that aren’t just for newborns.
The 8 pack of wipes (two branded boxes of 4) arrived in a Coterie cardboard box labeled as a set, inside an Amazon box. Ingredients and “To Use” directions are on each four-pack box as well as the back of each individual pack. The simple hinged lid opens easily with one hand and closes with an audible snap (nice). The blue sticker covering the wipes pulled off in one piece from the right-hand side, and I was able to grab just one good-sized wipe at a time. These are quality wipes. The EWG certification is as good as it gets ingredient wise. A baby’s skin wants gentle ingredients, and it doesn’t get any gentler than this. These unscented wipes had a barely there, very neutral scent to them if I really looked for it (from the minimal ingredients, there’s no vague “Fragrance”).These wipes are soft and gentle on skin while also being extremely strong. I pulled hard on two wipes. In one direction they wouldn’t tear at all, and the other direction eventually tore, but I had to really pull more than once. The amount of moisture on each wipe is just right. Not too much (there’s no dripping liquid), but enough to ensure that the wipe won’t dry out before the job is done. Not just for newborns. Vegan. Cruelty free. The boxes and individual packs I received in June 2024 were all marked BBE 03/18/2025. “Designed by Coterie in New York. Made in China.”
