Great bottles
When I had my first baby 5 years ago, I tried using this bottle but I was disappointed with it because everytime I used it, it would leak somehow. With my second baby, I was forced to use it since baby ended up being in the NICU due to a feeding issue & got used to the Dr. Brown’s bottles used there.The hospital gave us the narrow-neck bottle for use when at home. I was annoyed because again every time I used it, it leaked again. I knew I was doing something wrong. I realized from reading the reviews that the green insert is what causes the problem. Every time I would warm the bottle with the green insert in, all the milk in the bottle would come out of the bottle and into the warmer…I guess it creates some sort of pressure. After I started warming the bottle without the green insert, everything has been good! The bottle really helps reduce the air & as a result baby is not fussy.I also like the fact that the bottles are budget friendly. I know a lot of folks complain that there are a lot of parts to wash, which I totally agree with, but I intend to eventually use the bottled without the green insert so that baby is used to drinking milk normally.

What the hospital recommends
These bottles are great. At the hospital the first question the lactation consultant had for me was did you buy Dr Browns bottles. They slow the feeding down a bit according to the hospital and are the best bottles out there.The only thing I will say about them is you have to be careful when using them. If you do not screw on the top all the way you’ll have milk everywhere. (Easy to do at first) The other thing that can cause spills is the bottle warmer. Make sure you do not put these on the bottle warmer with the top screwed on all the way. If you do the milk will get sucked up the straw and also spill everywhere. It says it on their website too but like many others my first instinct was not to look for bottle instructions.

Ordered these for our 4 week old baby boy, we’ve been struggling to find bottles/nipples that actually work for him, these preemie nipples help with the waste down his chin, help with the gas, he burps much easier. This is our 3rd child and we’ve always used Dr Brown’s, swear by them!

Helped my colicky baby.
First off, these are plastic bottles. I didn’t even realize that the product description says glass, so I was expecting plastic bottles when I ordered these and wasn’t disappointed. These bottles were an absolute lifesaver when my daughter had horrible colic. Baby swallows a lot less air and spits up a lot less. She prefers the wide nipples much more than the original Dr. Brown’s.Like other reviewers, I also experienced leaks. This didn’t start happening to us until my daughter started eating 5oz (the maximum for these bottles). I’d put 5oz of water in the bottle and after I would add the formula powder it would be above the max fill line. I noticed leaks don’t happen if I press down as I screw the lid on.It’s also inconvenient that the travel lid that goes over the nipple doesn’t prevent leaks. Luckily, I learned this when there was less than half an ounce left, but it went everywhere inside the diaper bag. You need to use a special chip underneath the nipple (that’s provided in this set) if you travel with liquid in the bottle.These leaks were a relatively minor inconvenience for us. With how well these helped my daughter during her colicky phase and continue to work well, I still give these a 4/5.

Good bottle
Overall good bottle. I like the design of the bottle. Makes it easy to grip. Size one nipples had too fast of a fire for my newborn so I had to get the size zero nipples and they worked great.Just a pain to clean all the parts.
