    Stylish, Sturdy, Versatile
I really love the FORNEL Modern White Wooden High Chair! For me, it was important that my child could sit with a straight back, and this chair does exactly that. It’s very comfortable and easy to clean, which is a huge plus for everyday use.I was choosing between the white color and the natural wood, and I went with white — and I absolutely love it. The price is lower than many expensive brands, but I can see that it is just as high quality. My child can climb on and off the chair independently, which makes me feel good about safety and convenience. I assembled it myself while my husband was at work, and it was surprisingly easy — the instructions are simple and clear. I’ve never built furniture before, lol!The chair’s adjustment capability is excellent — it grows with the child, from toddler to adult. The size is perfect for most tables, and it’s very versatile for different uses at home. While it’s not fully foldable, it’s compact enough to move around and store if needed. This chair feels sleek, sturdy, and really practical. Definitely a great choice for anyone looking for a modern high chair that grows with your child.

    Great toddler “high” chair
For our first child, we bought an inexpensive average sort of high chair from Target. He could never sit up in it quite right as the seat was very deep and wide and let his feet dangle. As it turns out, it’s ideal for babies to have their feet flat on something, so we bought a little foot plate off Etsy. Our kiddo rarely used it – it was well made and installed at the perfect height, but it was pretty narrow so his wiggly feet wouldn’t stay on. When we were able to, we got a Stokke Tripp Trapp. 2 years later, we still have the Tripp Trapp and a new baby. We don’t have any hope of being able to afford another one by the time our second is ready to start solids, so I started looking for good budget friendly alternatives. I chose this one out of many adjustable chairs even though it doesn’t work for babies. We figured we could give this one to our toddler and use the Tripp Trapp (with its removable chair back, front leg piece, and harness straps) for the baby. The Fornel chair arrived today and it was super easy to put together. The hardest part was getting everything out of the box because I had the baby strapped onto my chest in a wrap. Ha! Putting it together took 10 minutes, including the time it took to get my toddler to sit on it so I could check and adjust the height of the foot and seat plates. The chair is beautiful and sturdy and a FANTASTIC alternative to the popular and excellent but twice-as-costly Tripp Trapp. I wish this chair had the option to buy and add on a harness for a young baby. The fact that it’s essentially only a toddler chair is its only major drawback. Otherwise, I’d actually 100% prefer this chair to the Tripp Trapp, as I like the shape of this chair better. And you can’t beat the price. If we have another child, I will buy another of these Fornel chairs for our then-toddler while keeping the Tripp Trapp for the baby. And our first would still be using the first Fornel chair as it grows with the child, even holding up to 200 lbs! The Tripp Trapp holds up to 300 lbs, but even so, this chair can be used for a really long time, and may never be outgrown if you’re not a large and heavy set person (for example, me! The heaviest I’ve been is 160 lbs while pregnant). Truly, this is a fantastic chair.I took several pictures of the Fornel and Stokke chairs side by side for comparison, but I’m unable to attach them here for some reason. Both are nearly identically sized – the Stokke chair is around ¼” wider overall, but the seats of both chairs are the same width. The Fornel is maybe ¾” taller from floor to top of the chair. Both chairs are the same depth measured from the front to the back of the legs along the floor. The Fornel does have smaller foot and seat plates depth-wise, which is one con in my opinion. However, the Fornel has higher slots in which to slide in the seat, making it more adjustable. (Perhaps it would work for a kitchen island???)In short, this chair rocks. I love it and so does my toddler. And our wallet.Pros:1. Price2. Easy to put together and adjust3. Grows with your child4. Quality/sturdinessCons:1. Not for babies2. Foot and seat plates are smallish

    Amazing design and quality!!!
This chair is AMAZING!!! My granddaughter (3yrs old) was too big for a high chair but couldn’t sit properly on a regular kitchen chair. Dinner time used to be a struggle for her to kneel the entire meal. NOW, with this amazing chair she sits and eats so nicely!!! The style of this chair was well thought out…..there are no “arms”….this allows for it to be pushed in under the table to bring the child close to their plate. The construction is VERY sturdy and easy to assemble. Completely adjustable without tools!!!!

    Great chair!
Bought for my 4 yr old who was super fidgety in our regular kitchen table chairs. Easy to put together and clean. He’s able to sit a lot more still since I’m guessing he’s more comfortable. Love that it can grow with him. Seats and foot board felt secure.

    Good chair, bad label placement
The chair is great. I wish, though that the walnut was a darker color, it was much lighter in person. And I wish they didn’t put this super strong adhesive label right on the visible part of the chair. They really should put it lower down or underneath the seat. This is a year later and I still can’t get that adhesive off.

Great option over the Stokke Tripp trapp
So we do have the stokke tripp and i swear by it and tell everyone to get it. For a few months my two year old hasn’t needed the infant seat and has been using the stokke like the fornel highchair. My second though recently started solids, but i didn’t feel like spending another $250 for just the chair alone for the stokke. Decided to try this one for my toddler and it’s great. Adjustable to his height, he can climb in and out of it safely like the stokke and the material is really nice and smooth, easy to clean (we got the natural wood color) It pushes up perfect height to our kitchen/dining room table as well.Anyways, if you swear by stokke like me, but don’t wanna fork out the $$ again when you have a baby/toddler, i highly recommend this chair! Easy to put together and sturdy (also got the natural color and fits right in with the rest of our stuff)

After 2 years, still going strong
We love these chairs. Initially bought to help my squirmy 4 year old son stay at the dinner table. Our table is counter height, so one of the most important factors was the seat height (it sits about 1” higher than our regular chairs). Love that the foot rest is adjustable and it allows kids to get into and out of their seats unassisted. We’ve had for two years and bought a second one for my daughter. The finish is durable (wipes clean easily and has not changed in color with daily wipe downs). They have grown with our kids and are often used by the shorter adults in our household too (really can be used from baby to adult).

This was surprisingly great quality! The wood was very heavy and solid. All of the pieces were clearly built with enough care to at least make sure all the drill holes line up well which I can’t say is the case for many of the other assemble-yourself furnitures out there.Instructions might be unclear if you don’t have a ton of experience assembling furniture (it doesn’t specifically instruct to put the barrel nut into every single hole (only shows it on the first step) but you need to do it for each hole. It took me less than 10 minutes to assemble. The surface wipes clean very nicely without streaking (I got the terquoise chair). My son loves it and it’s much easier for him to sit safely at the table. He was not safe in his booster seat and he is too old to use a “baby” high chair.I’m seriously considering getting 2 more for my small 7 year old daughters considering they hold up to 300 lbs!! They are able to sit much more comfortably at the table and counter in this chair than a regular dining chair.I’ve only had it a few days so I’ll update my review if anything goes wrong but so far I’m extremely happy with this purchase.

Solid construction. I wish it had a strap to secure the child in the seat.

I moved to Canada from Europe 16 years ago where the Tripp Trapp is very popular and I was looking for something similar for my 4 year old without spending $300+.We’ve had this chair for 4 months now and I am very happy with it. My son sits much nicer when eating and sits longer too. He has no trouble getting up and down independently and it’s very easy to clean. It’s not as solid as the Tripp Trapp but I am still very pleased with it.

I really wanted to like this chair as it seemed sturdy and functional. And for the price, I expected it to actually last. However, it has not been a year (bought july this year) and only used by my 3 year old and already the bottom footrest came undone while he was standing on it as a piece came off. Good thing he was not injured but gave us a scare.
