Simple, cute night light
Perfect, simple night light with stars and moon on ceiling. Exactly what my daughter needed. Battery powered but it does auto shut off which is nice. Easily turned on and off by 3 year old for independence.

I bought it for myself, a grown woman who likes to sleep under the stars! I am purchasing more of these as gifts for my friends, too as they love mine!The light is fun! It projects stars and a crescent moon on the ceiling and surrounding walls.Take a soothing bath under the stars.Night light for many uses, including sitting underneath the stars at night just for fun. Love this light of mine!
I love this night light. I now have 6 and love going to sleep at night with all my stars and moons. I’m 48 its not for my kid who is grown and out of the house. I can’t explain why but it is very relaxing to have then on . They made this product even better so its a good time to buy. The fist 2 I got would just stay on all night unless you got up out of bed in middle of night to turn them off. Result of that is dead batteries. And who can afford to buy 4 AA for each unit every other day? Not me! You fall asleep with them on and do not wake up to turn them off. Who would want to do that anyway?? So that sucked! But now they all shut off automatically after 30 minutes. Problem solved. Note that they look cheap when you first get them, but when you use them they light up your room beautifully! They don’t need to be any other material than plastic for what they are made for. I would tell anyone I meet to buy these.

Cute, simple, comforting, no need to turn off!
I love this thing! I’m sure I could find a more fancy nightlight but this is a really great choice and not very expensive.You tap it on and it stays on for a decent amount of time (30 minutes?). It projects stars and a crescent moon up on your ceiling in a blue-ish light that looks similar to the color of a UV light. It’s very wonderful because it’s a nice soft color but is comforting compared to a pitch-black room. It’s creates a very peaceful mood. I like that I can turn it on and just fall asleep and it will be off when I wake up. Or it will tell me exactly how long I’ve been trying to fall asleep, if it turns off while I’m still awake, haha.I got it 9 months ago and haven’t had to replace the batteries yet really.It feels a bit cheap in regards to… you have to tap the purple part all the way down (ca-chunk..), which is not hard you just have to be close to the thing to turn it on easily. Sometimes you have to double-tap it (First time to set the timer or something? Don’t know). The stars and moon are not very crisp, kind of fuzzy-edged and not super distinct (not blobs, just not crisp shapes), unless you have it pretty high up. But they still look nice.I would recommend getting it. I also like how it’s very portable and can be bumped around a lot it seems. I brought it camping once and it was pretty fun to use to light up a tent with fake stars.(I’ve added a picture of what it looks like, being held kind of close to a wall in the dark)

Five stars because it is exactly as advertised and perfectly suits my needs. It’s for me (an 8-yr old with decades of practice).My criteria: Inexpensive; Long-lasting; Low profile; Soft/Low Light source; Not prone to tip-over or fall; Easy to turn on/off; Timer fail-safe to conserve energy/battery life; No photo-sensor/ auto on; Small footprint.Before settling on this GE 17457 LED Twinkle Star Tap Light, I had been searching for a light to use bedside that would provide just a bit of soft light in the dark of early morning hours before I rise and turn on the lights. As soon as I awake each day, I exercise each ankle while still in bed. It’s much more enjoyable to spend those seven minutes with a little light than in complete darkness. This suits my needs perfectly, with a little whimsy to boot, for $5.31 and free shipping (with Amazon Prime).This little tap light is CUTE! I have it placed on a low, resin side table beside the bed (about six inches below my sleeping surface). When I tap it “on”, the stars spread along the adjoining wall and bed, and the moon is projected onto the ceiling along with a nice smattering of stars. I do have to be mindful not to look directly at the dome while it’s lit up, or the blue LED light inside (which is visible at various angles through the little holes in the domed top) can appear quite bright to the naked eye in the dark of early morning.Basic dimensions: 5.5″ diameter, and 2″ at highest point/center of domed top. It’s made of very lightweight plastic, and remains quite light even after inserting four AA batteries (NOT INCLUDED with this tap light) to make it operational. It has little rubberized feet (one review said his did not) and is not inclined to slide around or tip over with intended use.

Safe..worth buying
Worth the buy. Turns off by itself. Not as bright as many other night lights so the purple light works great. Lightweight and easy to carry for travel. Really helps my baby sleep. Quite durable. Doesn’t have parts baby can take apart so safe for my curious 2y.o

Cheap Knockoff that breaks
Not made by GE, a cheap Chinese knockoff. Worked well for 4 activations. Then it started flickering, and eventually wouldn’t turn on at all. Battery replacement did not fix the situation. I took the unit apart; there are wires between the batteries going to a simple on/off switch with leads to a circuit board with the led on it. Reseating parts did not help at all. Eventually removed the board and soldered in a christmas tree led light. This worked, but isn’t bright enough to cast a light on the ceiling. Save your money and get something else,I will say, my daughter really loved the purple stars on the ceiling for the 2 evenings it worked.
