Great set – see review for ingredient list
I’ve been on the fence about this product for like a year. My son is 4.5 and when this recently went on sale for $33, I snagged a set. I’m usually the kind of parent who isn’t a “spend money on the kit when you can find everything you need at the dollar store/probably have something I could sort of use for the same idea already/make it yourself” type. But in the case, I’m so glad I did because for once I don’t have to go looking all over kingdom come to find ideas and materials which saves me a ton of time, and it’s visually enticing and appealing to a child, which is part of his enthusiasm towards using it. I get asked to do something in this set every day now and that’s pretty sweet. The gift went over well with my kid who’s a sensory experience lover. I definitely lead the expirement, but he’s the one following my verbal instructions and doing all the action because it’s safe for little hands, there’s a decent margin for error, and he gets to really connect concepts like “do what your mother says because MAYBE she actually knows wtf she’s talking about” and I love how he’s learning about the process of science and expirements and concepts (sorry, dad and I are both science majors so it’s an enjoyable aspect for us too) . He’s got a good attention span for his age, the expirements are definitely dynamic for this age and I’d say up to maybe 7, if the child hasn’t done stuff like this with you already or in school. Even so these activities have a wide range of quick experiences to longer ones requiring more patience, think like something that would sit for a couple days vs something with an immediate action. The instructions and concepts are explained simply on the cards, however some of them might be better further explained for engagement of concepts. For example, one of my son’s favorite shows is DIY Sci on Amazon Prime with Steve Spangler. So when we did the expirement involving density (“Fireworks”) after having watched DIY’s episode discussing those concepts, it was a good way to tie in what we’d learned on the show already and my son loved it.As for the stuff you need, you’ll probably already have all of it, but I went through the expirement cards and here’s what’s listed besides stuff like measuring spoons/water:Gummy bearsSaltEggVinegarPaper towelFood coloringPaper cupThread/twineLarge paperclipBaking sodaCooked spaghettiBaby oilVegetable oilWhite washable paintGlitterSodium bicarbonate tabletsHoneyMilk1 celery stalk w/leaves1 white flower (carnation)Liquid dish soapCotton swabSensory items/foods with texture/outdoor items to view under scopeIceHalf and halfSugarVanilla extractM&Ms

    Perfect!
The grandkids loved it! Played with it for hours on end! Great purchase, would highly recommend!

Oh my gosh what an awesome kit
Our toddlers absolutely love this thing! So many nights have been spent together working on a “science experiment” and making memories as a family with this kit. It’s their favorite thing to request we do! They love guessing what will happen and “shopping” for the ingredients around the house. It’s helped them so much with their dexterity skills too from the pouring/measuring etc.

    Great product, only one complaint
I got this for my daughter for Christmas. So weve had it for about 6 months ish. She absolutely loves it (almost 4 yo). My biggest, and only complaint, is about the microscope. It’s pretty useless. It would be 10x better if it at least had a light. There are a few good science projects provided. Some require a really long waiting period to complete, so we haven’t touched those. Tunes, beakers, etc., are all well make and sturdy. That was probably the best part for me 🙂

    Great value and fun kit
Have given as gift to siblings kids with some munchkin bath color drops and a mix of cornstarch, citric acid, and baking soda so the kids could make colored and fizzy potions without as much mess. We use our science kit in the shower or tub or outside in the summer to avoid messes

A lot of fun for kids and adults
I bought this for my 3.5 year old to get him interested in science, and I’m so glad I did. We both have so much fun with this kit and it keeps his interest for over an hour at a time. Yes, there is an issue with the stand tipping over so I have to hold it when he pours , I read another review on here that suggested a baking pan and adding magnets to the bottom of the stand to prevent tipping and I’m going to try that. Whatever you do don’t put the cards to close by when doing experiments, they are not water proof , I found this out the hard way when the stand tipped over and all the colored water went all over the place . Overall it’s a great set and we love it.

    Some tools not working
The idea is good but the tools aren’t working properly. For example No.3, the tube can’t be sealed properly so it leaked. What a shame, could’ve been fun.

    Great set for STEM-interested kids!
My 3 and 5 year old adore this set. They are always asking me to set it up so that they can “do science.” The experiments are simple and practical, easy to do with common household supplies, and they’re simple and fast enough that they feel appropriate for their attention span. One caveat: somewhat messy, the tubes that connect to the funnels are just okay (they come apart easily). Definitely put something down to absorb water, or do it outside.

Lo recomiendo , trae experimentos interesantes para atraer la curiosidad de los niños. Artículos de buen tamaño y calidad para ser manipulados por niños.

My 4 year old daughter andI love everything and it came with everything as advertised. Even when we aren’t doing specifically science things she loves to make magic potions with this. So it’s also a great pretend kit. Also the viewscope doesn’t work really I’ve tried adjusting for different things and I can’t see anything 99% of the time but reading previous reviews I anticipated this so I bought a microscope in addition to the this kit. I love that it’s super easy to clean, the beakers and bottles are big so the kids can grasp it easily. The large tube also has the option of using two types of lids, 1 that prevents any content to escape and 2 others that have multiple holes in them. Came with a lot of cards to try experiments. Looking forward to reading through them. I would highly recommend especially for younger children and easy clean.
