These are hard shells with a flexible membrane that fit comfortably over the nipples and are held in place by your bra. They protect sensitive nipples from contact with clothing, squirming babies, or aggressive huggers while allowing air to circulate around the nipple and promote healing. They passively collect rather than absorb leaked milk.The membranes detach and reattach for easy cleaning. Depending on your anatomy, the nipple may touch the shell but the pressure is very minimal and they don’t adhere to your skin. They are compatible with lanolin or other nipple creams.They are nearly perfect. I am breastfeeding my third child and wish I had found these sooner. My previous treatment for sore cracking nipples was absorbent pads and lanolin cream. The main problem with that is the leaked milk would dry up and form kind of a glue, so detaching the pad usually resulted in tearing off the top layer of nipple! Ouch! Healing took forever, and breastfeeding was so discouraging. I was going to continue using the pads at night because I couldn’t imagine sleeping in these hard shells. However, my nipples couldn’t take anymore abuse and I’ve now been wearing these shells around the clock. It’s not the most comfortable for sleep but also not terrible. Be advised, there is a drain hole in the top of the shell. If you are standing upright, chances of leaking are slim… you’d have to leak a lot of milk. Lying down is another story entirely. Like I said, nearly perfect. But still a gamechanger and much better solution than anything else I’ve found.

I have an aggressive supply (when I pump I get 9oz-10oz total) and my breasts leak 2oz-3oz when just walking around. The Hakka’s are magnificent but they stick out and hit everything & I end up spilling everything making day to day tasks hard to get done, so the idea of these were a must have. I listed the pro’s and cons of this brand.Pros:- There is a silicone lining that lies flush to your skin making it comfortable but DOESNT extent past the plastic like the elvie catch which adds more comfort.- There is a small slit at the top that makes pouring out easy- Does the job of collecting milk & protecting sore nipples- Makes breastfeeding easy & spill free. My son would kick my Hakka off of the other breast and spill everything. This one just lies flush against my breast & is secure under my bra.Cons:- Doesn’t “suction” like the Hakka does so I get less amounts than I do with the Hakka.- This specific brand took about 4 weeks to come in the mail. I didn’t know if it was ever going to come so I ended up purchasing 2 other brands and by the time THOSE came in, this brand was delivered. I even got a refund from this purchase before it was delivered (smh)- Compared to the Elvie catch, this brand is smaller and more round making it more distinct when wearing a bra.- It doesn’t catch as much milk as the Elvie catch due to the placement of the hole. This brand has the hole directly in the center, the Elvie catch’s brand has the hole at the top of the disc- User needs to be aware of how much milk is in the pod because when you lean over milk WILL spill out of the top of this product- It’s easy to forget these are in.. user shouldn’t have these on ALL the time because your nipples need the time to air dry. If they stay moist all the time bacteria will build causing an infection/thrush.In my opinion, the Elvie Catch is the best one.. it’s about $35 for one set but the comfort & fit is better, no spills, and you’re able to catch more by the positioning of the hole.
