Requires USB to work as nite lite
This item was a very good idea. I didn’t notice that it had to be plugged in with the USB in order for it to be used as a nite lite; I didn’t read it well. It’s a nice size and it looks like it would be fun. I returned it since it required the use of the USB to work.

Perfect for a 3 year old
This was the perfect science experiment for my 3 year old that LOVES dinosaurs. This was his first time dabbling into the science world and he enjoyed putting it all together. He continues to play with and water the grass that grew!

My niece (4 yrs) and I have been doing an activity a month. The National Geographic kits are excellent. This dinosaur terrarium was so much fun to put together, the instructions were clear, quality was excellent and most importantly, it incorporated several topics my niece loves.. dinosaurs, planting and different types of rocks. This was a gift for my 5 year old son. He loves dinosaurs and loves to learn. The instructions are easy to follow, and everything you need (except water and sunlight) is in the box. The kit is typically good quality from National Geographic, and all three of our children were interested. The booklet contains age appropriate learning opportunities, but as we Home Educate, we extended these and made some science lessons to go alongside. It was fun for our son to get up every day, water and observe the growth and the highlight effect is a really cool extra. Would definitely recommend.
