Hape Happy Family Dollhouse Set Award Winning Doll Family Set, Unique Accessory for Kid’s Wooden Dolls House.

I bought these for my two year old niece for her birthday because, like a typical little girl, she loves dolls. I wanted something cute, sturdy, decently sized for little hands, and–frankly–something German because it’s true to our heritage and wonderful quality. Over the past couple of years, since my sister and I both had kids, we have received quite a few Hape toys, and they are all outstanding.These dolls are a good size for small hands–not too small to choke on but big enough to play with without being unwieldy–much shorter than a traditional Barbie. They are very cute. I like the faces and the clothes (very charming for dolls). I bought a nursery playset, too, and my sister tells me my niece has pretty much been playing with them non-stop (so much so that she’s mussed their hair up quite a bit). I’d give these five stars just for the happiness they bring to my niece, but I also happen to think they are wonderful toys. I will continue to buy from Hape for years to come.

A Nice Addition to Your Dollhouse
I chose this doll family to try and closely resemble our actual family members for our two year old daughter. I wish it had a second girl instead of the boy, but I understand why they chose one of each gender to create this set.The doll family shipped quickly, arrived nicely packaged and all family members were present. The price was also fair, but I do believe it was on sale at the time for a few dollars off the regular price.The dolls are cute and are simple, but detailed as well. I do prefer the “realness” of them compared to the usual plastic doll house characters that are geared towards toddlers. Yarn for hair and real material clothing with simple facial features give these dolls some personality without overdoing it.Now, I have to be honest and say that I purchased this quickly and did not do much “research” regarding the materials of these dolls, so the only complaint I have is entirely due to my rushing and not reading more about the construction of the dolls. The issue we have experienced with the dolls, since their arrival is that their legs and arms are made of a thick, rope-like material. Now don’t get me wrong this is a durable material and is also great because it allows for the appendages of the dolls to be easily bent and repositioned making it easy to have them in a sitting position. However, as I mentioned in the beginning of the review, this was purchased for a two year old and this rope-like material makes the legs somewhat uneven causing my daughter some frustration when trying to get the dolls to stand (don’t worry she will get over it haha). I would suggest that this product be given to an older age group, possibly 4 and above, unless Mommy or Daddy love helping to stand and re-stand dolls all day.Other than the above mentioned issue, (which please keep in mind was partly my error) this Hape Happy Doll Family is an adorable addition to any dollhouse. Good quality, good price and good fun.

These are lovely little dolls. Our daughters were given an old German-made dollhouse that needed new dolls. We wanted something that would look appropriate for the style and age of the house, and we knew we wanted good quality dolls that could stand, sit, etc. These are perfect! They’re really cute. And just like all Hape products I’ve purchased in the past, these are very well made. Highly recommended!
