The Infant Optics DXR-8 PRO video baby monitor is our most advanced monitor yet. As a parent, you want digital security without internet connectivity for an added layer of protection against hackers that may be able to access your camera over the internet. Operating on 2nd-generation FHSS frequency in a closed-loop system that does NOT utilizes your home WiFi, only YOU can see and hear your baby. The DXR-8 PRO features cutting edge features such as Active Noise Reduction (ANR), a high definition display, and interchangeable lenses. ANR is an option that can be toggled on or off to filter any background noise such as fans, air conditioners, humidifiers, and air purifiers, that are commonly heard on baby monitors as ‘static noise’. When it comes to video clarity, the monitor features a 5″ ultra-clear LCD display at 720P resolution with enhanced night vision. The three-step digital zoom can be operated with the optical zoom lens (included) so that you can zoom in to see your baby sleeping in 6x zoom without causing the pixelation and blurring seen on other monitors. All functions are controlled on our next-generation user interface. Dedicated volume and brightness controls on the top of the monitor unit. Brightness of the LED lights (power and LED sound bar) can be dimmed so it won’t shine your room bright at night. Standard features such as two-way talk back, sleep mode, night vision included. Monitor wakes instantly from sleep mode with a press of any button. Pair with portable battery pack (sold separately) for up to 24 hours battery life. Comes with manufacturer’s 1 year warranty, extendable to 2 years for free upon registration. Note: predecessor model DXR-8 camera units are NOT compatible with the DXR-8 PRO.
RELIABLE MONITORING: Our patented, Active Noise Reduction technology, filters out background noises in the nursery like fans, air purifiers, heaters, and air conditioners so you can hear your baby more clearly and enjoy a restful night’s sleep.
ULTRA-CLEAR VIDEO QUALITY: Our high definition screen offers sharp video quality and enhanced night vision with 720P resolution for ultimate coverage. The closed circuit camera system is hack proof so the video feed is only viewable by you.
VIVID LARGE 5″ SCREEN: An improved LCD screen offers better brightness, sharpened viewing angles, and a vivid color display, giving you exceptional clarity day and night, even in low-light settings.
HACK-PROOF CONNECTION: To assure that your kid’s room camera is secure, our baby monitor with camera and audio operates on a 2nd-generation FHSS closed circuit camera system. Each camera unit only pairs to ONE monitor unit only as a safety mechanism.

High quality and worth the money
Love this monitor. I have tried many over the years and this is definitely my favorite. It’s intuitive, user friendly, has external control buttons for volume, it’s easy to set the scan feature, the video is very good, and the handset feels sturdy. I had the Babysense for many years and loved the functionality, BUT the casing of the parent unit was super flimsy and kept breaking, and eventually I replaced it with the Hello Baby, which I hated. SO cheap, so extremely basic, poor video quality. Ended up returning it and I was hesitating over the infant optics for a while because of the price, since we needed two cameras, and $100 just for a camera isn’t cheap, but I’m so glad I got it. We’ve only had it about a month so I’m hoping it will hold up. It definitely seems like good quality.

Amazing video quality compared to Non-pro version
I bought this as an emergency last-minute purchase when my InfantOptics DXR-8 (NOT-pro) finally died after 5 years of abuse (I can’t tell you how many times that thing fell on the floor). I was really hating the non-pro version, and upgrading to the Pro, I can honestly say I am so impressed and feel like I have missed out on such a quality baby monitor all this time. The difference between the video quality between the DXR-8 and the Pro is huge. The range is much better, as the (non-pro)DXR-8 had really shoddy connection between opposite corners of my 2500 sqft house if we were relaxing downstairs while kiddo was asleep upstairs. I have not had any connection issues with the Pro in any room in my house. The ANR feature works well on single camera mode, but turns off during scan mode (as intended). This is not a dealbreaker for me anyway. I was relieved that the mounting bracket and wide angle lenses were interchangeable with my old non-Pro version, so I didn’t need to buy replacements on those. I also appreciate that there is a physical button for the volume instead of having to open the menu for it.My ONLY complaint is that I do use the monitor to talk to my older kid sometimes, and immediately after speaking on it, there is a couple-second gap of time after releasing the microphone button where the monitor is still muted and I can’t hear my kid since he always responds immediately. I’m going to have to teach him to pause before responding so I can hear.I’ve been using this thing for 3 days now and I can’t stop staring at the crystal-clear picture of my baby sleeping so peacefully on this baby monitor <3

Great baby monitor and awesome customer service
I am using this monitor with 2 cameras and it does a great job – clear picture and sound quality, easy to use, lots of customizable settings (like 24 hour format and temperature in C), and a much further reach than a previously owned Motorola camera, so I can go in my garden without loosing signal. This is not a split screen, but cycles through the cameras (you can customize time intervals) what works really well in practice – for some reason I was set on a split screen for the second baby, but that is really not needed. After using it for close to 2 years the parent unit went out on me, showing only a black screen while the sound still worked. I was able to get it going again after reconnecting the cameras, but the fix did not last long and it went black again. I reached out to customer service, and Emma C has been nothing but amazing. I got a reply within 10 minutes of my first request with detailed troubleshooting instructions. There was some back and forth and Emma always replied promptly. When the instructions only got the monitor back to life for a short time, I was offered a replacement unit which arrived the next day. I only had to pay shipping for the return of my original unit – InfantOptics is pretty adamant to get the broken unit back, what is understandable as otherwise people might get a replacement and sell the broken unit on ebay. Very pleased with the experience – highly recommend.

5 star baby monitor, 1 star Amazon quality control
5 star product, 1 star for purchasing from Amazon. Bought the whole starter package with camera and monitor but only the monitor came, and it was definitely not brand new. I couldn’t even get it to turn on. There was no camera or camera accessories, just the monitor and plug for it. I ended up having my baby before setting it up. My husband went to get it set up before we came home only to find it missing the camera. We ended up just buying a new one from Target on the way home from the hospital. He set it up and it’s great!!! Amazing picture and sound. Great connection. No worry about wifi hacking. Its easy to set up and connect the camera to the monitor. We also bought the extra wide angle lens which is great for seeing the whole room but still allows you to zoom in enough to see the baby in the crib. The night vision is great too. We’ll be getting more cameras to add too as you can have up to 4. But we’ll probably skip Amazon this time and go straight to Target for those. For this one, we have to package it yourselves and print a label to send it back to Amazon. I don’t want to have to go through the hassle again if it happens with the camera. Amazons quality control really seems to be lacking in the last year or two.

Infant Optics Video Baby Monitor a good choice
My son and daughter-in-law use this for their children. It is a very clear picture and is NOT attached to internet, which makes it safer. I ordered this one for my other son & wife who are expecting. It is overpriced, but the quality is excellent compared to other monitors.

Product sent to me with US power plugs. Useless in the U.K. Really disappointing for a premium product. Now having to go through the inconvenience of the return and being left with no monitor.

  10. Amazon Customer

I was putting off getting this monitor but I’m so glad I did. Yes the price is expensive but it works. The quality of the screen is superior and battery life is awesome. The best monitor and love its non wifi!
